Big 12 Football Updates: Suspensions for Saturday

A few notable updates going in to today’s afternoon Big 12 college football games.


Texas Longhorns
The Houston Chronicle is reporting that three key players – wide receiver Brandon Collins, defensive back Deon Beasley, and safety Christian Scott – are suspended for tonight’s opener against Louisiana-Monroe for academic issues, noting a “unresolved NCAA academic eligibility issues” stemming from a lack of progress toward their degrees. All appear to be in good standing academically, however.


Kansas Jayhawks
According to KUSports.com, four Jayhawk players are suspended for tonight’s game against Northern Colorado due to a violation of team rules. Of note, the suspended players include wide receivers Dezmond Briscoe and Raimond Pendleton, in addition to defensive tackle Jamal Greene and defensive end Jeff Wheeler.
